Day 1 – 4 (TENT AT LINYANTI EXPEDITIONS)

Linyanti Expeditions

Rates include: All meals, beverages, laundry, emergency medical evacuation insurance (personal travel insurance still required), return shared road transfers, National Parks Fees and two shared activities per day: morning, afternoon & afternoon drives, canoe safaris, walking safaris, catch & release shore fishing.

 

Linyanti Expeditions is an intimate expedition’s camp situated in a private concession, bordering the Chobe National Park. Linyanti Expeditions exudes a bygone era and is ideal for safari goers looking for an authentic African experience.

 

Being an expedition’s camp, Linyanti comprises of six tents, accommodating a maximum of twelve people. At night, guests are welcomed to the main tented area for a dining extravaganza with an open fire. If guests are looking for a bit of down time, they can relax and enjoy exquisite views overlooking the vast Linyanti wetlands.

 

The Chobe Enclave offers an abundance of wildlife species including large herds of elephant and buffalo, making for exhilarating walking safaris which are the main focus at Linyanti Expeditions. You will also be able to experience superb wildlife sightings by open 4×4 vehicles. The guides at Linyanti Expeditions are some of the best in the industry with having grown up with the bush at their back door and having to know the wildlife in the area quite well.

 

Day 5 – 7 (CLUB ROOM AT VICTORIA FALLS SAFARI CLUB)

Victoria Falls Safari Club

 

Rates include: Breakfast daily. A beverage station including a mini bar which is re-stocked daily with local beer and soft drinks, house wine and bottled water. Wi-Fi throughout the Victoria Falls Safari Club. Same day laundry service. Afternoon tea and pastries served (15:30 – 16:30). Sundowner cocktails and canapes (17:30 – 18:30). Access to edutainment presentations on the Estate, which occur at least 3 times per week – Monday, Wednesday and Friday (e.g. The Life of David Livingstone talk and other topics) starting from 09:30 (duration approximately 45 minutes). A shoulder and head or foot massage on the Club viewing deck daily (15:30 – 16:30) (subject to availability of Spa staff).

 

Located within the lush grounds of the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge resort the Victoria Falls Safari Club offers a new concept in accommodation. With 20 luxurious en-suite rooms the Safari Club is a place where Africa meets the modern-world in a private “Club”.

 

Situated on a kopje with uninterrupted views of unspoiled bushveld and spectacular sunsets, the property provides an elegant atmosphere in which to relax and unwind after a busy day. Away from the hustle and bustle of the town, the Safari Club is within easy proximity to all of the attractions of the area, including the Victoria Falls. The rooms are stylishly designed to ensure every comfort level is met and equipped with all the modern facilities. Guests at the Safari Club have access to all the existing services and facilities on the resort but no resort guest can have access to the Club, ensuring for total exclusivity.

 

Day 5 (SUNDOWNER CRUISE – ZAMBEZI ROYAL)

Zambezi Royal Cruise

 

The luxurious Zambezi Royal offers a unique and intimate way to view the Zambezi River. This single level cruise boat is the first of its kind on the Zambezi, custom built to maximize comfort, style, practicality and service. The Zambezi Royal is the optimum way to view the beautiful scenery and surrounds of the upper Zambezi River.

 

During the premium two hour guided sunset cruise, departing daily from the Wild Horizons Jetty site, guests can look forward to a 5-star service on board consisting of imported beverages and various canapes.

 

A variety of game is consistently spotted such as elephant, hippo, crocodiles and various species of bird.

 

Day 6 (TOUR OF THE FALLS – ZIMBABWE)

Victoria Falls Tours

 

Conducted every day of the year, this 2-hour tour discovers how the Victoria Falls were formed and what local customs and traditions surround their mystic past. Known as the “smoke that thunders” by the local Kololo tribe, encounter the true magnificence of one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, discovered by David Livingstone in 1855.

 

Day 8 – 11 (TENT AT SOMALISA EXPEDITIONS)

Rates include: All meals, beverages (except premium imported spirits and champagne), laundry, emergency medical evacuation insurance, return shared road transfers from nearest airport/airstrip, National Parks Fees and two shared activities per day (morning, afternoon & night safari drives, walking safaris, Hwange Main Camp Village visits, Mambanje Village visit (private vehicle required at associated costs for Mambanje Village Visit).

 

Somalisa Expeditions is set in the heart of Hwange National Park, and is known as the land of the giants for its big elephant herds. As an exact replica of the original Somalisa Camp, Somalisa Expeditions offers one of the most authentic ways to experience this exceptional wildlife haven. Nestled under an incredible grove of Acacias, along the edge of a seasonal flood plain.

 

Somalisa Expeditions main area includes a lounge and dining area on raised decking which overlooks a small pool, which elephants have become habituated to drinking out of. Add to this, the water hole is frequently used as a ‘mud-bath’ and a popular rendezvous for the elephants.

 

Consisting of six elegantly furnished Meru Style Tents, each tent has en-suite bathroom facilities including flush toilets and bucket showers. Activities include guided walks lead by qualified and passionate guides who will share their knowledge and love of the bush with you, game drives and night drives.

Batonka Guest Lodge is an upmarket boutique guest lodge and simply put is just beautiful. It really is in a class of its own in this price range and also holds onto a standard of service that is rare to find these days. This eco-friendly lodge, which opened its doors in June of 2016 is located in the residential suburbs just 2.5 kilometres from the Victoria Falls entrance. Being new it has all the up-to-date mod cons.

 

Batonka Lodge offers 22 tastefully designed and decorated spacious rooms each with its own small balcony. TV, wifi, air-conditioning, universal chargers, mosquito nets and a tea and coffee station are standard in every room. The large modern en-suite bathrooms are stunning. Inter-leading family rooms are available.

 

The large central area encompasses the reception, curio shop, lounge and indoor dining room as well as a very large outside terrace, which overlooks the gardens and swimming pool. This terrace, with a nice coffee bar is an ideal place to relax and chat to fellow travellers take in a coffee or opt to eat your meals here.

Sable Alley is a complete rebuild of a favourite old bush camp. Overlooking a lagoon that’s connected to the River Khwai, just a stone’s throw from the world-famous Moremi Game Reserve, this enviable location means the game literally comes to you. From the camp’s swimming pool, lounge and outdoor seating area there is an uninterrupted view of large herds of plains game, elephant and buffalo coming to drink– an idyllic way to spend an afternoon, especially with a cold gin and tonic in hand.

 

When you are ready to explore further afield, Sable Alley’s expert guides are on hand to interpret the sights, smells, and sounds of the bush. Game viewing will not just be from traditional safari vehicles. Sable Alley also offer mokoro safaris —enjoy being gently ‘poled’ along the water in a traditional canoe—a wonderful way to do some bird watching or simply relax.

 

Back at camp, your home in the bush is a comfortable and stylish tent. Elevated on decks to give you a view of the lagoon, the tents have en suite bathrooms, private verandahs and private, indoor & outdoor showers where you can wash off the dust of each truly memorable day.

 

Day 8 – 11 (TENT AT JACK’S CAMP)

Whilst on a trapping expedition in the Makgadikgadi Pans during the 1960’s, Jack Bousfield stumbled upon a site that so captured his imagination that he set up camp under an acacia with the unshakeable expectation that others would feel the same. His son Ralph, and partner Catherine established Jack’s Camp in his honor, and later the Uncharted Africa Safari Co with its unique portfolio of camps dotted throughout the Kalahari. It is these origins that proved vision is possible, embracing pioneering spirits, to create mindful and environmentally sensitive camps.

 

Jack’s Camp is an oasis of style and comfort in the middle of the Kalahari Desert. Spectacular vistas, creative surprises, expert guiding, habituated, incredibly friendly meerkats, Bushmen guided walks, unique desert wildlife, the historical Chapman’s Baobab, old-world safari styling and superb cuisine all come together to create an experience that is completely different to any other. In addition to the regular activities at Jack’s Camp, the wet season ushers in the spectacular sight of the annual zebra and wildebeest migration, and the dry season allows guests the opportunity to explore the vast Makgadikgadi saltpans on quad bikes.
